As bases militares dos EUA no Oriente Médio têm sido alvos de bombardeios retaliatórios feitos pelo Irã desde o início da guerra, há mais de um mês. Para prevenir mortes de suas tropas, Washington evacuou essas instalações entre janeiro e fevereiro, antes do início do conflito.
